A very insightful article by Nobel Prize winning economist and NY Times columnist Paul Krugman discusses the increase in right wing extremist activity, the rise in hate speech, and the role of mainstream media outlets. The article would have been even more persuasive if Krugman had taken into account the anti-immigrant sentiment, policies, and actions that have become more intense and common in recent years.
