In this Washington Post article Dana Milibank refutes the arguments about immigration-related violence and crime in Arizona that have been publicly espoused by public figures such as Governor Jan Brewer and Senator John McCain.
According to Miliband, statements claming that Arizona is a kidnapping capital of the world, that decapitated bodies have been found in the desert, or that violence in general has escalatated as a result of "out of control" immigration simply do no have corroborating evidence.
Moreover, if no such reality exists, then the arguments and rationale behind the need for initiatives such as SB 1070 are false.
